Website Design Service and Pricing

I offer a basic Web Design service for small to medium size businesses who require a Web presence without too many "bells & whistles" for a substantially lower cost than traditional large Web Design consultancies.

I do not charge VAT and I am not registered as a business, therefore no tax information, such as codes or National Insurance numbers shall be provided to any client. It is the Client's responsibility to settle my invoices promptly without the need for opening any business account facilities with the client. The services are offered as a small source of extra income in addition to my full-time day job and provided by me as part of my hobby. I will decline the offer of my services to any Client who does not accept the "Terms and Conditions" of my services which should be read in conjunction with this page.

The initial charge for design and set-up of a Website is based on the required amount of pages using the following scales:

[1]   1 to 9 pages £200.00
[2] 10 to 19 pages £250.00
[3]   20 to 30 pages £ 300.00
[4]   For over 30 pages I negotiate the price according to the amount of work I feel will be involved.

Standard Elements

CG Webmasters offer a basic service for small to medium size businesses which include the following elements in their Web Design package:

Consultation, Setup, Design, building and uploading of initial Website to your specification up to a maximum of 30 pages unless otherwise agreed. Page sizes are approximately ¾ A4 equivalent. The Client will provide all text, photographs and other miscellaneous graphics. The Client will be required to submit as much information as possible to allow CG Webmasters to create a comprehensive Web site including brochures, current advertisements etc. The Client should ensure that text submitted is in its final form. Substantive changes made to the customer's submitted text after the pages have been constructed will be additional and billed at an additional charge of £30.00.

Additional pages are subject to extra charges as advised on my quotation.

Comprehensive testing of your site in both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.

Upon completion, submission of the Website details to the major Search Engines.

A "Yearly Management Fee" (payable in advance with the initial Invoice) is charged to all Clients. This Fee is to cover checking/testing of the site, making any requested alterations/corrections, plus the addition of any new pages to keep the site up to date throughout the following 12 months. Any new pages will be added free of any extra charge as long as their number does not exceed 25% of the initial maximum pages. For example if your initial website consisted of 20 pages then for each page above the 25% limit (5 pages) an additional £10 per page charge will apply. Please note that this charge is in addition to the initial setup fee and is payable yearly in advance and added to your first invoice. The total fee applied to each Client is based on the amount of work involved in running the Client's website, based on the amount of changes or updates required throughout a year and is reviewed on an annual basis. The amount charged will therefore vary between Clients and will be lower per year to those Clients who require less frequent updates. The initial Yearly Management Fee applied is based on the work and number of pages involved in setting up the Website and again is variable to each Client.

Included in the price:

The initial quotation price given to the Client includes the creation of the web pages, any pictures, scanning, buttons, navigation aids, e-mail links and posting to a web host.

Any pages requiring complex animations, specific forms or database links or considered not within the scope of my capabilities will be not be accepted.

If the client requires the registration of a Domain name and E-Mail address for his Website, I can provide this on behalf of the client and all hosting and set-up charges will be added to the final invoice. Please be aware the cost of a Domain name can fluctuate depending on the name required and the registration company providing the service. I will always try to locate a Domain name at the lowest available cost, but I will not be held responsible if a lower charge is found after registering the Domain.

Important Note: As this service is provided on an “as is” basis by an individual, I will not be held responsible for any failure to meet deadlines, agreed or otherwise. I will endeavour to have each Client's site up and running within a timescale maximum of approximately 12 weeks from the initial consultation and acceptance of the project, but this shall not be binding on either party.

You should also be aware that there are certain services which require skills or facilities beyond my capabilities and should it be established that you require any of these, I will decline my services and advise you to seek the services of a substantially more expensive professional Web Design Consultancy Business.

All charges and fees will be agreed before any work can commence on setting up the Website.

With your quotation you will be supplied with a copy of my terms and conditions. Every Client is required to agree to the quotation and the terms and conditions before any work is commenced.
